CMC and NRS Share Their Next-Big-Things

We're proud to work with the top suppliers in the rescue industry - suppliers who know what it takes to manufacture equipment that will stand up to the rigours of work in this field.  With companies like CMC and NRS delivering the best in the business, we don't have to hesitate when new gear is released - we just get ready to stock the shelves.

We went straight to CMC and NRS to find out their Next-Big-Things for 2018

The 2018 CMC HELIX Sit Seat Harness and AZTEK ProSeries LT System

Jason Smallwood at CMC gave us the scoop on the HELIX Sit Seat Harness, and the AZTEK ProSeries LT System:

"The design of the CMC AZTEK ProSeries® LT System (Load Tender) is a more compact version of the AZTEK system that offers 28 feet of 8 mm cord that can extend the set-of-fours up to 6 feet, providing a 4:1 or 5:1 mechanical advantage.

"This more compact version of the AZTEK is designed for high-angle attendant positioning,  high-angle litter scoops, rescue pick-offs, and more. UL Classified to NFPA 1983 – General Use.

"As for the the Helix™ SIT Harness, it's the perfect solution for rescue technicians who require optimum performance, dependability, and all-day wearable comfort in a seat harness.

This next generation harness construction incorporates new design features throughout to provide the ultimate in support and agility while suspended from rope, as well as when walking or hiking. Quick-connect buckles on leg loops make securing the harness fast and intuitive."

You can find the Helix Rescue harness on our website, and if it's the sit harness you're after, just give our equipment manager, Matt Kilback, a call.

The 2018 NRS Zen PFD

When we called up NRS, Alex Boughamer filled us in on the latest updates to the Zen PFD.

"The NRS Zen PFD gives you advanced rescue features in a comfortable, low-profile design. A quick-release 1-1/2" rescue harness has a stainless steel attachment ring for roped-in rescues and safe towing, plus a loop for securing your tow tether.

Built for all-day comfort, padded sides wrap your torso, guarding vital organs against impacts, and the floating front panel improves fit and mobility and provides a warm spot for your hands.  We also widened the reinforced shoulder straps to reduce pressure points.

A compartmentalized clamshell pocket is big enough to stow and organize a small first aid kit or other rescue essentials and zips close for maximum security. The hand warmer also has an integrated pocket with zippered closure for additional quick-access storage. This fully-featured rescue jacket delivers 17.5 pounds of flotation and is rounded out with a knife lash tab and strobe loop. Durable construction with 400 denier ripstop nylon with Cordura® reinforcements."
