Emergency Response

Motorized (Flatwater) Rescue Boat Operator

Course Summary

Certified training for lakes, reservoirs, and tidal water.

This comprehensive boat operator course prepares emergency responders to operate any type of motorized watercraft on non-moving or flatwater in lakes, resevoirs, estuaries or tidal zones.

According to the Lifesaving Society, powerboating is the second highest cause of preventable water-related drownings. This course will develop the sense of confidence and necessary skills to operate watercraft at speed in flatwater in lakes, resevoirs, estuaries and tidal zones, and to avoid becoming a statistic. The curriculum includes pre-trip safety checks, identification of hazards, basic and more advanced boat handling, man-overboard, boat-based victim rescue, and general on-water safety. Participants receive a certification from Rescue 3 International that is recognized worldwide and is a valuable document in mutual aid situations.

We can tailor the course to any type of motorized watercraft (jet or propellor driven, or PWC). A low student to instructor ratio makes for lots of hands-on practice time for each participant.

We do not offer these courses on a public, open enrolment basis, but our group size is only 6, so contact us today to find out how to organize a course for your group. Please note: clients must provide their own watercraft.

TESTIMONIALS

Lyndon Brecia
Environmental Emergency Response, LTL Group

Our course was awesome. The instructors did an excellent job as well. What these guys did over the last three days is the way all training should be. I have been disappointed with training providers in the past, and you guys have reassured me there is still hope! Greatly appreciated. We had an awesome time, and will never look at a river the same again. We look forward to working with you again.
