Emergency Response

Non-Motorized (Swiftwater) Rescue Boat Operator

Course Summary

Certified training ... even for RDCs!

We provide a comprehensive, hands-on training course for emergency responders who utilize rapid deployment craft (or other non-motorized watercraft like inflatable kayaks).

Our comprehensive curriculum starts with pre-trip safety checks and hazard identification, and proceeds through boat handling skills, boat-based rescue techniques, and finally how to deal with flips, wraps and pins.

Limited classroom time and a low student to instructor ratio makes for lots of hands-on practice time for each participant.

We do not offer these courses on a public, open enrolment basis, but our minimum class size is only four, so contact us to set up a private course for your group. Please note: clients must provide their own watercraft.

TESTIMONIALS

Darren Saare
Port Alberni Search & Rescue

Once again it was great working with Raven Rescue. The course environment was a challenge, since we were in heavy flood conditions, but Craig did a great job of adjusting the curriculum to meet the needs of the participants while maintaining a sufficient level of safety amongst heavy debris, massive whirlpools and somewhat bizarrely... a couple of huge sea lions that strayed up the river to play in the chaos.
