Course Summary

Lead rescue teams in high hazard confined spaces

The Confined Space Rescue Technician (CSRT) course covers concepts and techniques to enable small teams to undertake technical confined space rescues. Both individual and team skills are exstensively addressed.  This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and efficiently participate in, and supervise team members in, the performance of a technical rescue into high hazard, complex, IDLH (immediately dangerous to life and health) confined space. 

Students will learn advanced skills required for team leaders including pre-planning, site management, team leadership, resource management, and incident termination. It is primarily field-based with realistic, hands-on scenarios to allow students to gain confidence in this high risk environment. 

This coures meets and exceeds NFPA 1670 Technician Level and NFPA Level II and is in conformance with CSA and provicial OHS.

Course Details


4 days 


1 day classroom, 3 days in confined space simulator or on-site.


Minimum 10. Maximum 12.


$895 (includes helmet and harness rental)


Repeat the entire course at a 15% discount every three years.

  • Coveralls or durable clothing
  • Steel-toed work boots
  • Leather palmed gloves (rope glove or work glove)
  • Helmet (included in course fee)
  • Harness (class III or separate chest and sit harness, included in course fee)
