Emergency Response

Ice

We provide one level of training regardless of whether you work over flat water (frozen lakes and ponds), or over moving water (frozen creeks and rivers) because the baseline skills and knowledge are the same for both.

However, ice over moving water increases the risk exponentially and we recommend that personnel working on frozen creeks or rivers also consider swiftwater rescue training.

The standard-of-care for those working in this high risk environment is a minimum of 16 hours of training that combines theoretical and practical knowledge.
