Course Summary

Work and rescue in tower environments

Go beyond working as a Tower Competent Climber by developing the skills necessary to perform a rescue in a tower environment. This three day course not only teaches participants to work safely in a tower environment - it also prepares participants to rescue by equipping them with a range of techniques. From methods for safely moving the patient, to the rope systems required to move the patient to the ground, personnel in this course will come away prepared to safely work and rescue in a tower environment.

This course is consistent with the NATE Tower Climber Fall Protection Training Standard.

3 days (24 hours)

1/2 day classroom, 2.5 days field based

Participants

Minimum 6. Maximum 8.

Prerequisites
  • 18+ years of age
  • A physical and mental aptitude for working at height
  • Ability to perform moderately strenuous activities
  • Documented industry experience

Repeat the entire course at a 15% discount every three years

Required Equipment
  • Class III full-body climbing or rescue harness*
  • Climbing or technical rescue helmet*
  • 100% tie-off Y-lanyard
  • Gloves with leather palms (ie. work gloves)
  • Work boots, hiking boots, or appropriate footwear
  • Long pants or coveralls
  • Appropriate protective clothing for weather conditions
